Diego El Cigala, was born in December 1968 in Madrid’s Rastro. His mother and uncle, the great Salamanca maestro Rafael Farina, have well-preserved his eco Menco Also his father, Andalusian, José de Córdoba, sang in tablaos of Madrid.
With just 12 years old he won the first prize of the Young Flamenco Competition of Getafe and a prize in the TVE contest, Gente Joven. Professionally, he began singing for the dance to artists such as Cristóbal Reyes, Mario Maya, Manolete, Farruco, Manuel Camacho or El Güito, among others. He also collaborated in recordings with musicians such as Tomatito, Gerardo Núñez, Vicente Amigo or Paco de Lucía.
